Central Arizona ASHRAE 2007-2008 Chapter President’s
Letter
It is an honor and my pleasure to
serve as our local ASHRAE Chapter President this
year. Even though it is still so hot out there,
I know we are all excited to be living in the Valley
where all facets of our industry are booming! I
am proud to know a lot of the talented consulting
and sales engineers and contractors who are building
so many unique and successful projects! Our chapter
Board of Governors knows that everyone is super
busy and time is precious. So in order for you to
plan ahead, our chapter Board of Governor’s
goal was to get a schedule set for the entire year
before our first meeting and to provide useful presentations
with top notch speakers and fun events. We will
also try to do a better job at keeping you posted
about the current Research Projects going on at
ASHRAE. These are the projects that truly help move
our industry forward.
As president this year, it is my personal
goal to focus on community connectivity and working
together to make our Valley a sustainable place
to live. This can only be accomplished with your
help! Please attend all of the events we have planned
for you so you can network and share ideas with
your fellow Arizona neighbors. Member involvement
is key for the success of ASHRAE and our community.
To help you meet this challenge the BOG and I are
focusing on sustainable topics this year, holding
joint meetings with ASPE and BOMA, and trying to
work with ACE, ACCA, SMACNA, the USGBC, and the
City of Phoenix. We also joined Valley Forward so
all of our members can be involved in this fantastic
organization.
A huge part of making our Valley become
and stay sustainable is the education of and the
involvement with the youth of our community. Our
second meeting in October will be a joint meeting
with our new Student Chapter. Please join us and
become a mentor for a student member. This will
help our industry grow and maybe even help your
company grow! We would also like to ask you to get
involved with an E-week event for junior high school
students and AZ Construction Day which focuses on
education for kids in High School. Both of these
events take place at the end of February.
I look forward to seeing you this
year. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally
if you have any questions about anything above.
We are always open for suggestions and comments;
again, our chapter and community can not be successful
with out you! Let’s make this the best year
ever!
Thank you!
