PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

August 2010

Fellow ASHRAE members:

I hope you all have had a cool, relaxing summer because your local ASHRAE chapter is going to “heat things up” with a variety of informative and entertaining programs throughout the upcoming season.  We have a great mix of new as well as seasoned people on board, who are excited about bringing interesting programs to our meetings.

The meeting location is changing this year to the Radisson Airport North hotel at 427 N. 44th St.  This change has allowed us to maintain our meeting meal costs of $30 for RSVP members and $35 for non-members and folks that don’t get their reservations in before the meeting.  We are fortunate that we have not had to raise the meal cost for the past 10 years.

Further benefits the new location affords us include:

  • Complimentary parking that is adjacent to the meeting
  • Wireless internet provided in themeeting rooms at no additional cost
  • A separate room available for ourtech session at no additional cost
  • Light-rail availability a blockfrom the hotel
  • Location close to the 202 freeway that is accessible and should make traffic more reasonable

The first meeting in September will have noise control issues as a topic and should be very informative.

I look forward to seeing you all there,

Gary A. Nelson, PE

ASHRAE Central Arizona Chapter President
