The Central Arizona Chapter of ASHRAE was chartered in October of 1953, when it was still known as the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers (ASHVE). The name ASHVE was eventually changed to ASHRAE with the merger of the American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers with the American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE) in 1959.

Below are links to PDF copies of pieces of the Chapter's history, including a copy of the Chapter's Charter, a photograph of the Chapter's Gavel, Meeting Notes from when the Chapter was formed, old Dust Devil Newsletters (many which were compiled by Walter Bibble) and a copy of the Chapter's Manual of Operations from 1962 (courtesy of Bob Langmade). We are always looking for more historical items to post on the website, so if you have any interesting photographs, documents, and such, please contact the Chapter's Historian Ben Madsen on at bmadsen@victaulic.com .
